Hey guys i've been interested in learning C++ and Java, but i have failed to find a decent free compiler that will be able to highlight reserve words and the like (for example in geany). but mainly just a compiler. Any help would be fantastic.

Eclipse should work. I believe there is a half decent C++ plugin for it. While the support is pretty weak in comparison to Visual Studio. It is better than notepad or pico.
