Help with posting script

Can someone please help! I can't get help with my query as I am unable to post a sample of my script so that others can see where I have gone wrong. I can preview the posting but when I submit it for posting it churns away for ages then finally tells me "no can do". I don't know why this should be as I can create and run scripts on my PC. The same thing happens using someone's PC. Is there any special action I have to take to post a script or can it just form part of the message ie follow on after the message being posted? Is there a maximum number of lines or words? Any help gratefully accepted!
