I took a look at the beta and it looks pretty interesting. Will wait for some more of the bugs to work out before I give it a good go but liking it so far.

No VML? SVG only by plugin? No Canvas support? Is it just me or are they trying to push developers into Silverlight? NAY I SAY! NAYYYY!!!!

It does indeed offer some good things, but not anything developers should NEED to accomplish tasks. The modern Web war consists of Flash vs AIR vs Silverlight/Moonlight vs Java FX or whatever they use. The base question is, why should a user have to download one or all of these onto their computer to get a certain level of functionality/performance that browser already has built in? Language choice? I honestly see JS2 as the future of the web and all of these 3rd party applications disappearing. (Safe to assume Microsoft won't play along til the last minute, but with 30% loss in browser market share it may not matter in the long term). http://developer.mozilla.org/presentations/eich-media-ajax-2007/
