I have to be honest that I have never really been a book person for VBScript. There is so much already online and the Documentation from MS covers pretty much every thing.

If I was going to learn a scripting language to specifically do OS deployment, I might actually look at PowerShell. VBScript is more documented and used, but Powershell will be a staple scripting language to know with Windows as well as other tools that interface with Windows (i.e. Citrix, SCCM, SharePoint, etc.). Powershell also can utilize .NET framework. VbScript isn't going anywhere, but as ebGreen stated, you can use the web to research just about anything you want to do with examples, do's and don'ts, and general good coding practices.

I will second that if someone has the opportunity to switch to Powershell that is what I would recommend.

I held off for ages and ages with Powershell because I just didn't think it would become the de facto scripting language for Windows. I think it's pretty obvious that MS are going force that issue now ;) Powershell is pretty damned amazing
