Saving Image from an RSS or XML to the srver's folder

Hi,
 
I need you help with savingiImage from an RSS or XML to the server's folder.
 
I have a Picasa RSS which holds the URL for the Image I would like to show on my site.
The problem is that Picasa is blocking, apperantly, the option of using the "<img src>" with the url i get from the rss, because it never shows it.
But when I put the URL into the browser's address bar field it will show the image.
 
So, I would like to by-pass Picasa's nonsense and to download the image to the www server, and then "<img src>"  it from my server.
 
My question is, what should I use to download the images to my server ?
 
Can you please give a scripted example ?
