Settting focus on an image

I will try to explain what I am doing and the problem I have.
I have a map image on a web page. I have several images on top of the map that are not visible at first. When user selects item from dropdownlist I make the approriate image visible. No problem there. Problem is the map is large and some images appear on the map outside the browser viewing area. (Way at the bottom) User has to scroll down to see them. I tried putting in anchor tag but no luck. That only works if I go to the page, not on refreshing.
ANy suggestions?
