Hi

I am trying to write a script to perform a task in ACT 7, a piece of contact management software but as a very recent starter to scripting am having some problems.

Basically I have a window which will pop up and allow the user to enter a quote number. I can set the application to run a script when opening the dialog box. I need to be to populate this field with a automatically generated quote reference.

I thought perhaps create a text file for each user with a starting number, have the script read the text file for the number, use send keys to fill the dialog box and then re-write the number to the next one to use. However I am stuck on how to start the script and even if this is the way to do it??

I would really appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction.

Many thanks

Rob
