I notice there are a lot of Sys/Network Admin in this board. Should we create new forums for Sys/network Admin?.

My opinion is: No.

This b/c the functionality of a Network / Sys admin is wide...it overlaps many sides of VBS usage. IMHO, the current situation is working properly. (looking at WSH & VBScript - forum)

Maybe there could be a special forum for web developers, b/c HTML / HTA scripting does not cover the full functionality of VBS.

Maybe (again? yes, again) if you really want to expand this site, you could also add VBA to this, b/c VBA can be combined with VBS, but it is a complete different range of scripting / compatibility then VBS.

Hope my suggestions help...

Snipah

PS. are there any updates on new Mods?

Yes, give me some time to consider this. Do we really need to seperate client side VBScript into two categories?

VBScript + HTML => HTA
WSH

And should we create a VBA forum?

Others?. Please give me your comments and suggestion on this one.

I think vbscript can be best divided as the following:

vbs/wsh  (programming and running scripts straight from the script file(s))
hta/html/htc etc. (client side application and webpage development)
vba (strictly office related programming)
ASP (self explanatory)

Also perhaps a more general forum for programming COM components (this may eventually blur into VBA and htc programming)

I noticed that scripting for Server/Network/Remote administration is very different than using scripts for local "PC" use.
I'm for splitting but I'm not sure if we realy need to. thread headers tells enough.

I don't agree:

I'm new to HTA and it's a royal pain to figure out what's working and how it's working on HTA.
I think an HTA/HTML forum is necessary because there are things like calling a Sub that are very different from WSH.
