I've been given the task of maintaining tons of VBScript/ASP code. But I just don't get how some of it works. I'm from a C/C++ & Java background. Here's my first and most pressing question:

I'll see this in a file:

user.getMemberID()

...however, I cannot see anywhere user is defined. it's not passed into the function either. can VB pages/scripts extend/inherit? I have no idea what's going on here.

All VBScript objects/variables that are declared outside of a function/sub have global scope to the entire script.
