I'm presently developing a small database that will collect inventory information from the various computers on my domain.  Yes I know there are products out there that I could purchase to do this, but I'm on a limited budget.  With that said, i'm interested in how to collect the Product keys of installed software on my system for products like visio, office xp, etc...

Can someone help point me in the right direction?

Well I guess it depends on what you mean by "Product key". Pick a product (let's say office xp) what is the product key of that product on your pc? How did you find it?

Here is how I'm finding what software is loaded on my system if that is the question you are asking.

My question is what do you mean by product key? Do you mean a key that you entered when you installed the product? Do you mean a unique identifier for each product? Do you mean a unique id for each installation of the product?

I suspect that there is no way to retrieve that. I know that I would not want someone to be able to retrieve the activation key for my software. If there is a way, I suspect that it will be very specific to each product.

FYI, when I run your script(after I add back in the Next and comment out the missing function call) I get 27 applications back, when I run mine I get 57 applications back...

Sorry I don't have a stripped down version.

I agree with EBGreen, I doubt you will be able to find all of the product keys for your apps.

That is because yours finds all apps that have advertised themselves for removal whereas his finds all apps that were installed using the MS Installer engine.

Yup.  Not all manufacturers store their product keys in the registry.  Hell, not all manufactures store their uninstall information in the registry!
