What is Total Commander?

It's an alternative of Windows Explorer....

Weeell....that's not strictly true.  HTAs CAN be run from a remote machine/network share but I've found that you usually have to add that machine to your Trusted Sites.

nope, I just run it from a dosbox or from Total Commander, not straight from an editor.

Sorex,

Why don't you just tell us a little more about your PC system? OS? etcetera...

Like i have said before (and many others with me) when we run it from DOS, Total Commander (i use 6.53), doubleclick from the Desktop, or whatever, it works!

Right now this thread is going nowhere, the code you are using is 100% correct to use as an HTA file.

Have you checked the setting in File Types?

yep, HTA's are set to always open with Internet Explorer.

That's IE 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519

This to me is strange, i feel i need to troubleshoot to have a visual check of the filetype...b/c the only time when i had that error msg is when you open an HTA from IExplore.exe itself.

HTA's are opened with MSHTA....(see attached scr shot)

WOWzers, you solved both of my problems at once!

I didn't even think further that it could've been wrong since it's rendered by IE anyway, funny thing is that MSHTA started as event even when it was pointed to IE.

Merci hé
