Hi guys. i have four kix scripts that i would like to convert to vbscript because as i dont know kix i dont want to manage them and prefer to use vbscript.

Does anyone know kix? or can help me convert kix to vbscript. I have four script but thought i would start with the first one.

Thanks to anyone who can help with this.

I don't kn ow kix, and have never really worked with it, but just looking at the code it seems pretty easy to understand the basics of what it is doing... enough to create a vbscript to do many of the same things:

;looks like it opens a log file as file # 1, in mode #5(dunno what 5 is, whether read, write,append, or what)

;copies the suswol.ini file to suswoltemp.ini 
Copy '\\LNWSUS01\WOL$\suswol.ini' '\\LNWSUS01\WOL$\suswoltemp.ini'
;starts a for...next loop that will iterate through each line in the SUSWOL section of
;the suswoltemp.ini file.
For Each $PC in Split(ReadProfileString('\\LNWSUS01\WOL$\suswoltemp.ini','SUSWOL',''),Chr(10))
;grabs certain character positions to fill various string variables

Hello mate.

Yes you read it right.

I just not sure how to convert this first script into vbscript.

Any ideas?

First, go through the kix script. Comment each line. Then, paste the comments into a blank .vbs file. Then, write the code under each comment that will do what the comment is saying.
