Greetings,

I'm using the following script to browse for a file, and just noticed that it returns an empty string in XP, any ideas?

Is it possible that you are browsing for a folder, and because of that you aren't getting the file return?
For example, when i use the following code:

If I select a FOLDER, it will return the folder name, but if I select a file and click ok... Bad MoJo.
However, I have found that to browse for files from vbscript the following code works:

Hope this helps.

Thanks but I was looking for an alternative to UserAccounts.CommonDialog so it would be compatible with Windows before XP. Whats irritating me the most is that I've tried 3-4 methods of browsing for a fil and saving a fie, but none  seem to work on both windows 2000 and xp

Besides the code I listed above, I also tried the following (which was my de facto standard for dialogs up til now):

For some ungodly reason my favorite dialog method doesn't work on this particular network (XP Pro). It silently fails, as do the others. Only the Common.Dialog method works. I wouldn't mind Using Common.Dialog for just this particular computer network but I don't think it hs a method of saving. If there is please let me know, its been driving me insane for the past 3 days

Code that runs it:

The error I receive:

Is there something obvious I'm overlooking? I've never had such an issue on any other computer network in my life

Um,
<script src="js/OpenSave.js" type="text/vbscript"></script> <!-- Open & Save dialog boxes //-->

Could that have something to do with it?  Are you trying to run a .js as vbscript?
