I took these two off the MS blog.  But I get no output. Just goes to the next prompt.

What's the deal???

What is the $_.   all about?

Status: offline 		$_ is pulled in from perl (or a similar scripting language). In the case of PowerShell, it essentially is a reference to the current object in an iteration.
