Hi Everyone.

I am trying to automate a solution using vbscript and one of the things I need to do as part of this is give an user rights to "Logon as a Batch Job", in the local security settings. Is there a way in which I can do this through vbscript.

Windows 2003 Resource Kit has ntrights.exe which can be used and this, I could invoke through vbscript, but I dont want to do this and need to make the solution more independent.

Any help in this regard, would be highly appreciated.

With Regards,
Bubblez

Hi Ginolard,

Thanks a bunch for the quick reply. I understand I can use subinacl.exe as well. But this is again something which will have to be provided or downloaded additionally, in case I am going to provide this to a customer. I would like to know whether there is a way I can do this programmatically through vbscript, without having to go for running subinacl through shell commands.?

Thanks once again.

Managing any sort of rights and permissions strictly with VBScript, such as WMI, is painfully difficult. You truly are better off using command line tools and calling them from your script. You'll save yourself a lot of time and stress.

There are ways to "hide" the tool running from your script if that is a concern.
