hey i newbie, and i need to program a vbscript that reads a 2 strings characters, first inte first line of the text file, is the name of my user, then the second line is at the end of the file, it says how many archives and the weight of it, have mty user, i need to put in a list, in any format, somebody have idea how i make that?

Look at the FileSystemObject. Especially the .OpenTextFile method.
