I want to let you know about a new community-oriented web site for PowerShell, PowerShellCommunity.org. The site is in "soft-opening" but you can go there now, register and grab the logon name you want, and start looking around. Many PowerShell related sites and blogs are being moved to this site in hopes of creating THE place to go for PowerShell. It is sponsored by a number of vendors, including Microsoft, but is vendor neutral. The site hosts a growing number of blogs, a script library, user groups, discussion forums and more. Here are some excerpts from the charter which should give you an idea of what the community will be about: 2. Purpose 2.1 Serves as a focal point for education, networking, and communication within the community of information technology professionals interested in, and utilizing, Microsoft Windows PowerShell. 2.2 To promote the use of Windows PowerShell and to provide a community for the nurturing and growth of local user groups, as well as the growth of non-Microsoft products built on or for Windows PowerShell. 3. Objectives 3.1 Encourage the adoption and use of Windows PowerShell. 3.2 Encourage the development and use of non-Microsoft products which use or are designed for Windows PowerShell. 3.3 Encourage the development and growth of local and regional user groups dedicated to the same objectives as this community. 3.4 Provide an open forum where interested IT professionals, Microsoft employees, and non-Microsoft vendors can interact through discussion forums, directories, blogs, and other forms of online communication. 4. Membership 4.1 General membership is free and open to all interested parties. I hope you'll stop by and get involved.
