I would like to create an algorithm to score the "global quality/quantity" of eBooks of each subject.

Each subject has a main subfolder, like:

eBooks\Subject1\(...)
eBooks\Subject2\(...)
eBooks\Subject3\(...)
(...)

I would to create an algorithm/equation/formula to score them (subjects). I think it would be important such algorithm/equation/formula to rely on:

*) Total Size of each Subfolder (the higher the better)

*) Total Number of Files inside each Subfolder (the higher the better)

*) Total Number of Sub-Subfolders inside each Subfolder (the higher the better)

*) Maximum Folder Depth (the higher the better)

*) The Size of the Largest File Size (the higher the better)

*) The Size of the Largest File Size (the higher the better)

I tried many combinations but the resultant score were very absurd, except when:

Score = (Total Number of Files inside each Subfolder) * (Total Size of each Subfolder)

Do you know a better one?

Thanks.

Regards.

You can assign weightages to different variables

Global quality e.g.
Total Size of each Subfolder : 1
Total Number of Files inside each Subfolder : 2 (more information)
Total Number of Sub-Subfolders inside each Subfolder : 3 (vast variety of subjects)
Maximum Folder Depth : 2 (detailed subject)
The Size of the Largest File Size : 1

Global quantity e.g.
Total Size of each Subfolder : 3 (more to read)
Total Number of Files inside each Subfolder : 1
Total Number of Sub-Subfolders inside each Subfolder : 1
Maximum Folder Depth : 1
The Size of the Largest File Size : 3 (more to read)

You can grade the variables that you get i.e. from 1 to 10
e.g. Total Size of each Subfolder grade can be 10 if ot is grater than 10G and 1 if it is less than 1G

Scoring can be like

score= (<variable grade> * <variable weightage>) + (<variable grade> * <variable weightage>) +...

Hope it helps...
