A modern scripting program is about as powerful as a compiled C++ program of 10 years ago.

vbscript can be used with any COM enabled component as well as in html for browsers that use the Trident engine (Like Internet Explorer).Its also very popular in Active Server Pager which is probably its #1 use these days.

Just doing a quick search over the forum will show you alot of the different contexts this is used.
