   adLockOptimistic : http://www.microsoft.com/technet/scriptcenter/guide/sas_ent_cwja.mspx?mfr=true I doubt that this would matter either

2) Not positive, but I would think that you could remove the DSN

3) Yes

I did remove the DSN, and it still works ok.

Truthfully considering how you were using access you could probably gone for years with no problem. Access has a bad habit of mangling data if it is used in anything approaching a real production environment. Even if Access had no problems, since you were just using it to pass data through from the end DB all you were doing is adding overhead with no benefit.
