I am using wscript.shell obj to run shell commands; mostly to execute programs such as notepad for e.g.

If I want to invoke the command prompt window opened in a specified screen position, what should I do? Is this possible?

I don't think there is anything Native in vbscript to do this. You could try AutoIt, or create a shortcut to %comspec% and checkout the Layout Tab.

You're right, I wasn't thinking WMI processes, I was thinking the standard .Run / .Exec
Good catch.
