I'm programming a little backgroud script, but at a specific point i need to know wich keys are pressed...
I searched the whole internet but i cant find something about it...
Can you help me please?

WSH does not natively support detecting key presses to start/stop actions....though there may be a hacked about way of going about it.

The only remote "hack" I could think of is using the Active Desktop to grab focus (next to useless...).

You will have to use a COM component to gain access to hardware events. (more specifically Win32). the dynawrap component may have this available.

A background script monitoring key presses? The usual reasons for this is a keylogger. What other reason would there be for such a thing?


If you need to check for keys in an application, you can do it with an HTA, but this is a foreground app, not a background script.

its not a keylogger xD
its actually a protection for your account, lyk if someone managed to come past the password of the account (like removing it from another account) it makes the start menu blink so that you cant do anything. and i wanted to use a key combination to make a password dialog appear, so you can stop the script.... but anyways, thanks for the help.
