Why remain stuck only with VBS?

PERL would be inappropriate I think. Especially since the URL is visualbasicscript.com

True, Perl would be inappropriate within this site.

However, some of it is relevant when talking about using ActiveState's Perlscript as the scripting engine for use with WSH and ASP instead of VBScript. Same as with using JScript instead of VBScript. There are similarities and differences with using the different languages in regards to COM particularly, ADO.

However, one can always try to ask these Perlscript related questions in the miscellaneous/non-VBScript forums of this site.

Not to mention that fact that the vast majority of the questions here are not related directly to web scripting at all.
