my friend sent me a file on aim..with an extension of .vbs. i tried to open it, now all my files mostly mp3s and .jpgs are vbs, i can't listen to my music files anymore because of the vbs, and i also can't look and my pictures. i want it back to normal...someone please help!!!
Go into the registry.. ***CAREFUL**** Open HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT and look for .mp3 and .jpg and delete them. Then close out. You will now see that there isn't a program associated with opening the mp3 or jpg.. Windows asks you to choose a program.

I hate that, forgot to log in and lost a large post I just typed. Not gonna do it again but this is a bit more brief.
If all your mp3 and jpg file extensions are now vbs (ex. filename.mp3.vbs) then you are probably infected with the ILOVEYOU (aka loveletter) virus. Check here http://vil.nai.com/vil/content/v_98637.htm for moreinformation. Make certain you have the most upto date virus definitions for your virus scanner and scan your PC.
